In early America, there were no ball-point pens- people wrote with quill pens made with feathers. Make a replica that you can use!
Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need a ball-point pen, scissors, colored construction paper, tape, and crayons or feathers if you wish to decorate your quill pen further. To begin select a colored piece of construction paper and cut a narrow rectangle that is the length of the pen excluding the tip. Wrap it around the pen and tape it in place. Next you need to cut another piece of construction paper- this will give your pen its feathery look. Cut another rectangle that is the length of the pen excluding the tip and 4 inches tall. Next take this rectangle and cut it into a triangle. Now fringe the slanted side by making cuts into it. Now tape this fringed traingle to your pen and you will have quite the quill pen!
