The Seminole -'Runaway'- lived in the Southeast in parts of the Florida Everglades. They lived in thatched houses above the ground on stilts and built dugout canoes. They grew tobacco, corn, beans, and sqaush and hunted. Their villages welcomed runaway slaves from Florida and Georgia. One of their most famous leaders was Osceola.
