Haida

The Haida lived along the Northwest coastline in villages in parts of British Columbia and Alaska. They fished and built huge dugout canoes. They lived in plank houses and were famous for their intricate and beautiful painted carvings. Their main clans were Raven, Eagle, Frog, Beaver, and Bear. Many died from smallpox and other diseases brought by white settlers.
