Halloween : Picture Books
Halloween is a festive holiday which is celebrated on the night of October 31st. Children dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating, people carve pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns, and people throw Halloween parties with tradtional activites like bobbing for apples, fortune-telling, and spooky storytelling. Halloween is celebrated in most parts of the Western World and is thought of have developed from ancient festivals of the dead and the new year. The Celtic festival of Shamhain is perhaps the source of present day Halloween celebrations. In America, Halloween celebrations did not become popular until the 1800s.
